There is a great and ever-increasing demand for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians that have completed training from an accredited technical school. Read through this guide to learn about what you can expect while enrolled in a Florida Career College HVAC diploma program:
Hands-On Training
Our HVAC training program consists of much more than bookwork. Whether you’re learning about compressors and switches or refrigeration mechanics, you’ll be in an environment where you can actively take part in your education. FCC curriculum trains you to provide skilled service for a variety of HVAC systems, as well as common diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks.
Experienced Faculty
At FCC, our faculty is well-versed in the different components of HVAC systems. During your training, you will learn methodology, principles, and tools and techniques you will need in order to be successful. HVAC instructors direct and supervise you as you are trained in subjects such as electrical controls, motors, refrigeration systems, heating systems, air conditioning systems, and servicing procedures.
Residential & Commercial Training
At FCC, we offer two HVAC diploma programs designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the air conditioning and refrigeration field:
- 9 Months (45 Credits) – Residential: After nine months you’ll have the skills to work with residential heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- 12 Months (60 Credits) – Residential & Commercial: An extra three-month module includes heating, air conditioning, and ventilation system training for commercial applications such as retail establishments, hospitals, offices, factories, and construction sites.
Green Thinking
Heating and air-conditioning systems are increasingly sophisticated as both residential and commercial property owners look for ways to save money and the environment, which is why our HVAC tech training program involves energy-efficient and green awareness training.
Florida Career College offers unparalleled diploma programs to help you get the skills you need for a successful HVAC career. Maria Dona, a September 2011 Graduate from the Medical Assistant Technician program, Brandon Campus states; “: when I went for the first time to Florida Career College’s orientation, I told myself that my age was not going to stop me from going back to school and achieving my goals. I met lots of people and listen to all their stories but I told myself that I would remain positive and that I would finish what I had started.
I am happy to say that all my hard work and positive outlook paid-off. I been hired by Quest Diagnostic and feel grateful for all the help the FCC staff provided me. I am especially grateful to my instructor Mrs. Capell, for believing in me, and to Ms. Manetha Paris, my career service advisor for encouraging me and helping me find my new career.
I have learned that having the right attitude and confidence will make you very successful. Thanks, Florida Career College for maintaining my spirits high.

Samantha Wetjen, an August 2011 Graduate from the Medical Assistant diploma program, West Palm Beach Campus states, “I initially decided to go back to college and pursue a Medical Assistant diploma because I wanted a career and a better life for my son. FCC was a challenge as I thought the school material would be easier than it really was. I decided to hang-in there until the end and it really paid off.
I am currently working at Dr. Raxenberg’s office as a Medical Assistant. I would like to thank my instructors Ms. Bernat and Ms. Murray for always pushing me and special thanks to Ms. Bills for finding me this job.
I would definitely recommend Florida Career College to anyone desiring a career change and looking to go back to school.
